Day 120

Wow, y’all. We’re coming up on my 1/3rd of the way through . . . . which is, in all, kind of amazing and kind of ridiculous, at the same time.

But I get ahead of myself. Today’s back to gray and gloomy in Chitown ( . . . what a surprise!) and I dressed for my acting class with both weather and movement in mind:

Gap cardigan, J. Crew tee, A. G. jeans, UO flats

The cardigan is actually a Gap body robe that I bought four years ago? When I wanted a comfortable mocha-colored sweater, but wasn’t finding anything I liked in regular clothing. The t-shirt is from the haul from my friend LJ (and yes, I’m working on a post about the weird and wonderful aspect of getting ‘new to me’ things, expect that this Monday or Tuesday), and I’m excited about its potential for wear in classroom/rehearsal* situations. And of course, y’all know the rest.

I have to say – I’m inching closer to my major “moving is actually happening” lifeshift – and it’s getting a little strange and a little amazing, all at the same time. I’m getting more than a little bummed that I won’t have use for my office clothes any more – y’all, I have things I haven’t even shown you yet, that I’m going to run out of use for in this brave new summer of packing, traveling, class and physical work. (You’d better believe I will be dressing the eff up at my retail gig.)

I just. have. so many beautiful things. I love them all. I’m excited to wear them. But I’m definitely getting overwhelmed by how many of them are of no genuine practical use for me, anymore.

Anyway, that’s a post for another time. The Great Purge? It’s Coming.**

Mixed up:

*You know – comfortable, fitted, good for movement, nothing too distracting. A combination of Splendid, Vince, and Eileen Fisher.

** Is it a horror film? I kind of hope not. (It sort of sounds like an M. Night Shymalan, doesn’t it?)

Hi Danielle, well it looks like our weather has caught up with you, in fact last week I wore my Wellies out and I bought a pair of Girly Pinky ones yesterday and will wear them for work tomorrow whatever the weather.
Your outfit is both smart and practical and as you say layering is the answer.
    Julia
